Josh Buckland is a Partner in the Firm’s antitrust and foreign investment group. With more than 10 years of experience in obtaining governmental approvals on complex global transactions, he is known for calmly steering clients through large-scale investigations and counseling on a broad range of regulatory issues.

Josh leads on cross-border matters around the world, with a particular focus on navigating the European antitrust landscape. He regularly engages with the European Commission and the U.K.’s CMA on merger reviews (Phase 1 and 2), cartels and other antitrust investigations.

Josh is also at the forefront of European foreign investment and national security issues, having established a stellar track-record of approvals for sensitive transactions under the U.K.’s National Security and Investment Act and with national authorities throughout Europe.

Josh is a trusted advisor to leading private equity clients and other multinationals across a range of sectors, including tech, defense, media/telecoms, financial services, healthcare, industrials and retail. He possesses an insider’s perspective on the U.K.’s TMT regulatory environment, having completed a nine-month secondment to Ofcom’s Competition Group in May 2020.
