From its worldwide headquarters in Manhattan, Simpson Thacher has been serving clients since 1884. In our earliest days, we advised the railroads, which in turn bred nascent practices in energy and commodities—and in the ensuing decades had a direct hand in the industries that transformed New York City into the financial nucleus of the nation. Today we provide our clients with a full array of general corporate and litigation services. Our New York office—the Firm’s largest—advises the full complement of clients: from investment banks and other financial institutions, to private equity sponsors and asset managers, to large, multi-national corporations and small, private companies, to educational and philanthropic institutions, as well as individuals.
