Based in the Firm’s London office, Andrew Bechtel is a Partner in the Banking and Credit Practice and a key member of the Firm’s Alternative Capital and Private Credit group. His practice focuses on advising leading private equity sponsors, corporates and lenders in connection with high value cross-border leveraged and acquisition financings (including take private transactions and multi instrument bank/bond structures) in addition to advising leading sponsors and credit funds with respect to structured credit solutions and subordinated debt/equity investments across a wide range of sectors and products, including direct credit, real estate finance, loan on loan financings, preferred equity investments, holdco financings, convertible instruments and emergency liquidity lines.

- Leading corporates including Eircom, Flint Group, Molson Corrs, Salt Group, Unifrutti and Teekay across a variety of corporate financings
- Leading financial institutions including Bank of America, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and UBS in a number of leading acquisition financings, corporate financings and real estate financings

Andrew received his Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Queensland, College of Law in 2011. He received a Juris Doctor with First Class Honours from Bond University in 2010 and a Bachelors of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Queensland in 2007. Andrew is qualified in England and Wales having first being admitted as a solicitor in Queensland, Australia (not currently practising).
