Robert Rossi is Counsel in Simpson Thacher’s Private Funds Practice. Based in Boston, he advises domestic and international fund sponsors on the formation, structuring and operation of private investment funds. He has deep experience in assisting sponsors on the development of vehicles across a range of strategies, including growth funds, buyout funds and other customized fund arrangements.

Rob was previously an associate at another large international law firm. Notable experience prior to joining Simpson Thacher includes advising:

  • B Capital on multiple transactions and fundraises, including the close of its third venture growth fund and related companion funds;
  • Gauge Capital on multiple transactions and fundraises, including the close of its second, third and fourth private equity funds;
  • Index Ventures on multiple fundraises, including the close of several growth funds, venture funds and seed funds;

Rob received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 2016, where he was elected to Order of the Coif, a member of the Dean’s Scholars Program and Executive Articles Editor for the Boston College Law Review. He was also the recipient of the John D. O’Reilly Award for contribution to the law school community through service to its students. Rob received his B.S. in Finance and Marketing, magna cum laude, from Boston College in 2013.
