Simpson Thacher Represents Alinda Capital in Funding of Howard Midstream and WPX Energy’s Joint Venture

The Firm represented Alinda Capital in funding a joint venture between Howard Midstream Energy Partners, LLC (“HEP”) and WPX Energy (NYSE: WPX) to develop crude oil and natural gas gathering and processing infrastructure in the Delaware Basin. Funding for the 50/50 joint venture was provided by existing unit holders of HEP - Alinda Capital Partners and Alberta Investment Management Company - as well as GIC Private Limited, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. HEP will complete construction of an approximately 50-mile crude oil gathering system, build a new cryogenic natural gas processing complex with an initial capacity of 400 million cubic feet per day and build associated natural gas and product pipelines.
