Javier J. Rivera-Alvarado

Javier J. Rivera-Alvarado is a Partner in the Firm’s Private Funds Practice. His practice focuses on the formation and operation of private funds, representing sponsors across a broad range of asset classes. He also counsels sponsors on their internal arrangements, co-investment vehicles and continuation fund transactions. Javier’s representative clients include Stonepeak and Blackstone, among others.

Notable work highlights include representation of:

• Stonepeak Partners in the establishment of the first vintage of Stonepeak Opportunities Fund, which closed with $3.15 billion
• Blackstone in connection with the establishment of a new perpetual capital vehicle that acquired Resolution Life Group Holdings, Ltd., raising $3 billion of new equity capital commitments
• Blackstone in the establishment of its fourth flagship commingled fund for Blackstone Tactical Opportunities, which raised $5.2 billion of capital commitments
• Blackstone in an investment in AZZ, Inc. regarding AZZ’s acquisition of Precoat Metals from Sequa Corporation for approximately $1.28 billion
• Blackstone in connection with its proposed acquisition of The Chamberlain Group LLC from The Duchossois Group, Inc., in a transaction that values Chamberlain Group at approximately $5 billion
• Blackstone in its investment in Chainalysis; the investment is part of a $100 million Series E financing round that brings Chainalysis’ valuation to $4.2 billion
• Blackstone in connection with its acquisition of a significant minority equity interest in Walker Edison

Javier received his J.D. in 2016 from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.B.A. in 2011 from the University of Puerto Rico, where he graduated cum laude. He is admitted to practice in New York and Texas.
