Notable experience prior to joining Simpson Thacher includes:
- Advising the debtor in connection with the financial restructuring of the 299MW Tees Renewable Energy Plant, the world’s largest pellet biomass power plan, implemented by way of a Part 26A restructuring plan;
- Advising Virgin Atlantic Airways on the £1.2bn solvent recapitalisation of the Virgin Atlantic Group involving the first UK Part 26A restructuring plan;
- Advising a group of distressed debt funds on the acquisition, by way of a debt for equity swap, of certain real estate investment interests from a company in administration;
- Advising the coordinating creditors on the financial restructuring of Premier Oil plc, implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement in the Scottish Courts; and
- Advising Trafigura as shareholder and lender on the €2.6bn restructuring of the Nyrstar group implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement.

- The coordinating committee of creditors in connection with the $4.5bn debt restructuring of a UAE-based construction group.
Siân has been recognized by Global Restructuring Review among its “Women in Restructuring” for 2023 and was named “Rising Star – International Firm” at the IFLR Europe Awards 2021. She received her LL.B. in Law with French Law and Language from University of Leicester in 2008. Siân is admitted to practice in England and Wales.
