Iram Huq

Iram Huq focuses on the formation, structuring and operation of private equity funds across multiple asset classes. She advises many of the world’s most prominent private fund sponsors on some of the industry’s market-defining private equity fund formations, including Blackstone, Silver Lake, Carlyle and Neuberger Berman. Additionally, Iram counsels emerging sponsors on private equity fund formation, restructurings, funds-of-one, managed accounts and similar custom arrangements as well as operations.   

 Highlights include advising:

• Silver Lake Partners in multiple fundraisings and co-invests, including Silver Lake Partners VII ($20.5 billion); Silver Lake Partners VI ($20 billion); and Silver Lake Alpine II ($3 billion)
• Blackstone in multiple fundraisings and managed accounts, including: Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe VI SCSp (€9.8 billion); Blackstone Senior Direct Lending Fund ($2 billion); and Blackstone European Senior Debt Fund III (€1.1 billion)
• Carlyle in multiple fundraisings and funds-of-one, including: Carlyle Realty Partners IX ($8 billion) and Carlyle Direct Access II ($450 million)

Iram is also frequently involved in various pro bono matters. She recently was part of a team that successfully secured asylum in the United States for Afghan citizens who had been evacuated from Kabul under harrowing conditions in 2021 when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. 

Iram received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2015, where she was President of the Moot Court Board and a Chayes Fellow. She received her B.A. and LL.B. in Law from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences in 2011. She is admitted to practice in New York.
