Aleah Borghard is Counsel in the Firm’s Government and Internal Investigations Practice. Aleah formerly held several positions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including Senior Advisor to the Chairman on matters involving the Divisions of Enforcement and Examinations, Counsel to the Co-Directors of Enforcement, and Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel. Her practice focuses on advising public and private companies, board committees and executives in a broad range of high-stakes investigations by federal and state regulators.

Aleah Borghard is Counsel in the Firm’s Government and Internal Investigations Practice. Based in the New York office, Aleah’s practice focuses on advising public and private companies, board committees and executives in a broad range of high-stakes investigations by federal and state regulators. Aleah formerly held several positions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel and Senior Advisor to the Chairman.
Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Aleah was Associate General Counsel at Citadel Securities. Aleah was also formerly an attorney at another AmLaw 100 law firm.
Aleah received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2007 and her B.A. in Fine Arts from University of Pennsylvania in 2003. She served as a law clerk to the Hon. Dora L. Irizarry, U.S. District Judge and the Hon. Steven M. Gold, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She is admitted to practice in New York.
