Simpson Thacher Ranked First in Data Center Transactions Globally for 2024 Per Infralogic

Simpson Thacher was ranked first in data center transactions globally based on volume for 2024, according to data from Infralogic. Over the course of the year, the Firm advised on numerous high-profile transactions around the world, including the two largest M&A deals (by value; per Infralogic), representing Blackstone in its A$24 billion ($16.1 billion) acquisition of AirTrunk; and DigitalBridge in connection with a $9.2 billion equity investment round in Vantage Data Centers, led by investment vehicles managed by DigitalBridge and Silver Lake. The Firm also advised on many other prominent transactions in the space, including representing KKR in its $50 billion strategic partnership with Energy Capital Partners, the largest private owner of power generation and renewables in the U.S.; Macquarie in its investment of up to $5 billion in the high performance computing data center business of Applied Digital Corporation; DataBank in connection with a $2 billion equity raise; EQT and its portfolio company, EdgeConneX, in connection with a substantial minority investment by Sixth Street; and the first ever U.S. private placement (USPP) in the data center market, among many others.
