Simpson Thacher is representing GI Partners (“GI”) in the announced acquisition of DQE Communications LLC (“DQE”) from its parent company, Duquesne Light Holdings, Inc. (“DLH”).
DQE is a leading regional provider of high-speed, data networking for businesses and carriers with a continually expanding fiber-optic network currently spanning thousands of miles. Formed in 1997 as a subsidiary of DLH, DQE has extended its geographic reach beyond its core Pittsburgh footprint and evolved into the region’s largest independent fiber provider offering a full suite of infrastructure oriented communication services.
