Corporate Partner David Blass was quoted extensively in an article published by Hedge Fund Law Report titled, “Exams of Non-U.S. Advisers: Practical Tips for Handling SEC Exams (Part Three of Three).” The article, the final part of a three-part series, provided tips for non-U.S. advisers that may face an SEC exam for the first time. David explained that, for non-U.S. advisers who haven’t been examined by the SEC previously, “it is definitely advisable to talk to someone who has been around the SEC quite a bit and knows how [Examinations] operates.” He further added, “you also need somebody to help translate – both culturally and substantively – what the SEC staff mean in the context of the examination and who can explain where they are coming from,” to help prepare appropriately for a potential exam.
