04.25.25

Registered Funds and Funds Regulatory and Investigations Partner Justin Browder was a featured speaker at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Crypto Task Force Roundtable titled, “Know Your Custodian: Key Considerations for Crypto Custody,” as part of their Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity series, on April 25 in Washington, D.C. Justin participated in a panel titled, “Investment Adviser and Investment Company Custody,” which discussed the challenges and opportunities related to crypto custody, focusing on issues faced by investment advisers and investment companies when working with non-traditional custodians.

The SEC’s Crypto Task Force seeks to provide clarity on the application of the federal securities laws to the crypto asset market and to recommend practical policy measures that aim to foster innovation and protect investors. The Crypto Task Force collaborates with Commission staff and the public to help chart a new approach to the regulation of crypto assets. The scope of the Crypto Task Force’s focus will include assets colloquially referred to as digital assets, crypto assets, cryptocurrencies, digital coins and tokens, as well as protocols.
