Simpson Thacher represented Grupo Rizek Inc. (“Grupo Rizek”) in connection with the acquisition of Scotia Crecer AFP and Scotia Seguros S.A., Scotiabank’s pension and pension-related insurance businesses in the Dominican Republic. Grupo Rizek is one of the largest diversified business groups in the Dominican Republic, including investments in the agricultural and financial services industries. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
