American Industrial Partners raised its sixth private equity fund with $1.8 billion in commitments. The fund held a first and final closing at the end of last month and was heavily oversubscribed. The fund is more than twice the size of its predecessor fund. Simpson Thacher has represented American Industrial Partners in connection with each of its last four funds.
American Industrial Partners is an operationally oriented middle-market private equity firm that makes control investments in North American-based industrial businesses serving domestic and global markets.
The Simpson Thacher team on the fundraise included Mike Nooney, Mark Tannahill, Robert Guo, Brendan Baker, Colin Osiecki, Jae Won Lee Chung and Susanna Kim (Private Funds); Noah Metz (Tax); and Brian Robbins and Jeanne Annarumma (ECEB).
