Avianca Holdings to Sell 30% Interest in LifeMiles B.V. to Advent International

Simpson Thacher represented Avianca Holdings S.A. (“Avianca Holdings”), a leading Latin American airline group, in connection with its sale to Advent International of a 30% interest in LifeMiles B.V., a subsidiary of Avianca Holdings. LifeMiles B.V. operates the LifeMiles loyalty program, one of the largest loyalty programs in Latin America with leading market positions in Colombia, Peru and Central America. The completion of the transaction is subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions. In connection with this transaction Avianca Holdings will receive total proceeds of US$343 million and will maintain a 70% interest in LifeMiles B.V.
