Simpson Thacher is representing J.P. Morgan Securities LLC as a financial advisor to Health Net, Inc. (NYSE: HNT) in connection with the sale of Health Net to Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC). The cash and stock transaction is valued at approximately $6.8 billion, including the assumption of approximately $500 million of debt. The newly combined company will have more than 10 million members and an estimated $37 billion in pro forma premium and service revenues for 2015.
Health Net is a publicly traded managed care organization that delivers managed healthcare services through health plans and government-sponsored managed care plans.
