Simpson Thacher Advises the Underwriters on Apple’s ¥250 Billion Yen-Denominated Bond Offering

Simpson Thacher represented the underwriters, led by Goldman Sachs International and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International PLC, in connection with Apple Inc.’s first registered public offering of yen-denominated notes.  Apple Inc. offered ¥250 billion aggregate principal amount of 0.350% notes due 2020.  The net proceeds from the offering will be used for general corporate purposes, including repurchases of common stock and payment of dividends under Apple Inc.’s program to return capital to shareholders, funding for working capital, capital expenditures, acquisitions and repayment of debt.
