Blackstone to Acquire Orica Chemicals

The Firm is representing an affiliate of investment funds advised by Blackstone (“Blackstone”) in connection with the acquisition of the chemicals business of Orica Limited (ASX: ORI) for an agreed purchase price of A$750 million. The Orica Chemicals business includes chemicals trading businesses in Australia, New Zealand and Latin America and an Australian Chloralkali manufacturing business, as well as Bronson & Jacobs, a supplier to the food and nutrition and health and personal care industries in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015.
