Simpson Thacher received the Award for Excellence in Energy/Projects: Power conferred by Chambers & Partners at its annual U.S.-based awards ceremony held on May 22, 2014 in New York City.  Chambers commends the Firm’s energy and projects attorneys for their “thoughtful advice and creative problem-solving,” and goes on to say that the Firm has “earned itself a reputation among utilities and power companies for its expert handling of M&A, securities and other transactional work [, and its] expertise also extends to project finance.”

In addition, the Firm was a finalist for Awards for Excellence in Corporate/M&A, Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, Finance, Insurance, Investment Funds and Real Estate.
