Simpson Thacher is representing The Blackstone Group (“Blackstone”) in connection with its investment in Gianni Versace SPA (“Versace”), a global, luxury fashion brand. Entities affiliated with Blackstone will acquire a 20% minority stake in Versace for a consideration of €210 million, comprising €150 million of fresh capital in Versace and €60 million paid for shares purchased from existing shareholders. The transaction is expected to close in early April.
