The Firm recently won three Deal of the Year awards at the 2013 ALB Japan Law Awards. The Firm received the “Japan Deal of the Year” and “Equity Deal of the Year” for our representation of the international managers in the ¥663 billion (approximately US$8.5 billion) initial public offering of Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The offering included an international offering to institutional investors pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S. This IPO was the second largest IPO globally in 2012. This deal was also named a “Capital Markets Deal of the Year” by Asian-MENA Counsel and the “Best IPO” by FinanceAsia. To read more about this transaction, click here.
The Firm also received the “TMT Deal of the Year” for our representation of Blackstone in connection with the US$2.3 billion sale of its equity interest in eAccess Ltd., the largest mobile broadband supplier in Japan, to Softbank Corp.
