06.12.13

The Firm has presented its annual recognition award to Christopher James Llego, a senior at Sheepshead Bay High School and member of the school’s Moot Court and Mock Trial team. This year, Sheepshead Bay achieved success at every stage of competition and is currently ranked as one of the top eight schools in New York City.   A team of Simpson Thacher attorneys worked with the Sheepshead Bay students to help them develop legal arguments, write opening and closing statements, understand legal procedures and fine tune their presentations.  Chris has been lead attorney for the Sheepshead Bay Moot Court and Mock Trial Teams for the past three years, during which he excelled as a strong team player, leader, and mentor to his teammates. Chris was selected as one of sixteen New York City student attorneys to serve on the All-Star International Moot Court Team that traveled to The Hague. After advancing to the finals, Chris led his team to international victory.   Chris was also one of four students from Sheepshead Bay selected to participate in the Princeton Fall Moot Court Competition, where he was chosen as one of the top ten oralists.  He also advanced to the quarter-final round of the National Moot Court Competition.

Chris has been accepted at Cornell University and plans to attend in the Fall of 2013.
