Simpson Thacher represented the underwriters, led by Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and RBC Capital Markets, LLC in connection with the public offering by First Trust Energy Income and Growth Fund of approximately $97 million of its common shares of beneficial interest.
First Trust Energy Income and Growth Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company which commenced investment operations in June 2004. The Fund's investment objective is to seek a high level of after-tax total return with an emphasis on current distributions paid to shareholders. First Trust Advisors L.P. is the Fund’s investment advisor and Energy Income Partners, LLC is the Fund’s sub-advisor.
