Simpson Thacher corporate partner and head of the Firm’s Investment Management Practice Group Sarah E. Cogan spoke on a panel at the Investment Company Institute’s 2012 Closed-End Fund Conference on November 27, 2012 in New York City. The panel entitled "The Search for 'Yield' and the Changing Face of Leverage" examined various methods closed-end funds have used to satisfy investor demand for income, and the effect of managed distribution plans and the return of capital. The panel also discussed how changes in rating methodology may affect use of leverage by closed-end funds.
