Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in U.S.$2.0 Billion Debt Offering by América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V.

The Firm represented underwriters, led by Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley, in connection with a public offering of U.S.$1.25 billion aggregate principal amount of 3.125% Senior Notes due 2022 and U.S.$750 million aggregate principal amount of 4.375% Senior Notes due 2042 by América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V.

América Móvil will use the net proceeds of the offering to repay borrowings under credit facilities incurred primarily to finance recent minority investments in European telecommunications companies.

América Móvil, which is organized in Mexico, is the largest provider of wireless communications services in Latin America, based upon its 245 million subscribers in 18 countries at March 31, 2012. Mexico, Brazil and Colombia are América Móvil’s single largest markets for wireless communications.  América Móvil also has major fixed-line operations in Mexico, Brazil and 12 other countries.
