Simpson Thacher Represents Cogeco Cable in Proposed $1.36 Billion Acquisition of Atlantic Broadband

The Firm is representing Cogeco Cable Inc. in connection with its proposed acquisition of all of the stock of Atlantic Broadband for $1.36 billion through a combination of cash and debt.  The transaction is expected to close before the end of the calendar year, subject to regulatory and other customary closing conditions. 

Cogeco Cable, based in Montreal, Canada and publicly listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, is the fourth largest cable television system operator in Canada.  Atlantic Broadband is a cable television system operator in the United States, serving customers in Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, Delaware and South Carolina.
