The Firm is representing J.P. Morgan Securities LLC as financial advisor to Caterpillar, Inc. (“Caterpillar”) in its acquisition of Bucyrus International, Inc. (“Bucyrus”) for $92 per share in cash, a transaction valued at approximately $8.6 billion (including net debt). Subject to regulatory approvals, customary closing conditions and approval by Bucyrus stockholders, the transaction is expected to close in mid-2011.
Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. Bucyrus is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high productivity mining equipment for the surface and underground mining industries.
