Simpson Thacher Represents Managers in $2 billion Offering of Senior Bonds by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation

The Tokyo office of the Firm recently represented the underwriters in an offering of $2 billion senior bonds issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. Goldman Sachs International, Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Barclays Bank PLC were the joint bookrunners. The offering was conducted pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S.    

 

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, the major operating subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, is one of the world’s largest commercial banks, with ¥104 trillion in non-consolidated total assets as of March 31, 2010.
