Simpson Thacher represented the Carlyle Group in the establishment of Carlyle Asia Partners III, L.P. CAP III has been formed to make privately negotiated equity and equity-related investments in companies in Asia. Carlyle believes that CAP III is one of the largest private-equity funds raised in the region since the height of the global financial crisis in 2008.
