On May 12, 2009, Simpson Thacher litigation partners Bruce D. Angiolillo and Thomas C. Rice will participate in a webinar entitled "US Litigation: When Is It a Risk and What Can Be Done?" The webinar, hosted by Herbert Smith LLP, Gleiss Lutz and Stibbe, in association with Simpson Thacher, will look at the rules relating to the jurisdiction of the US Courts over foreign defendants, with particular reference to recent cases in the area of securities and shareholder litigation arising out of the credit crunch and the bankruptcy jurisdiction of the US Courts. It will also consider the procedures of US litigation and the ways in which US litigation can spill over into the English Courts.
