Simpson Thacher represented The Carlyle Group in connection with the establishment of Carlyle Mezzanine Partners II, L.P. The fund raised approximately $533 million of capital commitments and will be primarily focused on junior debt and minority equity securities in leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings involving U.S. middle-market companies.
