Simpson Thacher Represents KKR on US$576 Million Acquisition of Unisteel Technology Limited in Singapore

On June 7, 2008, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (“KKR”) announced the execution of the implementation agreement to take private Unisteel Technology Limited ("Unisteel"), a disk-drive components maker in Singapore that is listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (the "Singapore Exchange"). The shares of Unisteel will be transferred to KKR under a scheme of arrangement authorized by a court of law in Singapore if a majority of shareholders (representing not less than 75% of the value of Unisteel shares) of Unisteel vote in favor of the deal, after which Unisteel shares will be delisted from the Singapore Exchange.
