Governor Spitzer Appoints Bourque & Gutman to Judicial Screening Committees

Governor Eliot Spitzer yesterday announced the members of four Departmental Judicial Screening Committees and the State Judicial Screening Committee, appointing two Simpson Thacher litigation partners, Robert Bourque and Hank Gutman.
Robert Bourque was appointed Chair of the First Department Judicial Screening Committee and as a Member of the State Judicial Screening Committee. Hank Gutman was appointed a Member of the Second Department Judicial Screening Committee.
The Department Committees are responsible for screening appointments to the Appellate Division in that department, as well as appointments to vacancies in the lower courts in the department. The State Committee is responsible for screening appointments to the Court of Claims. For more information on the Committees, click here.
