Simpson Thacher is pleased to announce that it has elected six Senior Counsel to the Firm, effective January 1, 2007. The new senior counsels are: Elisa Alcabes (Litigation-NY), David Elbaum (Litigation-NY), Adeeb R. Fadil (Litigation-NY), Richard A. Grimm (Executive Compensation-NY), Michael R. Isby (Corporate-NY) and Michael C. Naughton (Litigation-NY).
ELISA ALCABES is a 1983 graduate of The Julliard School and a 1988 graduate of Columbia University School of Law. Elisa joined the firm in 1988 and became Counsel in 2002. She is a member of the Litigation Department, specializing in insurance, bankruptcy and directors and officers liability.
DAVID ELBAUM is a 1991 graduate of Brown University and a 1995 graduate of NYU Law School. David joined the firm in 1997 and became Counsel in 2006. He is a member of the Litigation Department, specializing in securities litigation and insurance coverage.
ADEEB R. FADIL is a 1980 graduate of the University of Virginia and a 1984 graduate of Yale Law School. Adeeb clerked for Judge Robert Merhige in the Eastern District of Virginia. He joined the Firm in 1989 and became Counsel in 1994. Adeeb is a member of our Environmental Practice Group.
RICHARD A. GRIMM is a 1989 graduate of Arizona State University and a 1994 graduate of Whittier Law School. Rich received an L.L.M. in tax from Southern Methodist University in 1995. Rich joined the firm in our Palo Alto office in 2001, became Counsel in 2005 and practices in our Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Group.
MICHAEL R. ISBY is a 1983 graduate of CUNY Queens College and a 1986 graduate of Fordham Law School. Mike joined the firm in 1988 following a two-year clerkship with Judge David Edelstein in the Southern District of New York. He became Counsel in 1994. Mike is a member of our Environmental Practice Group.
MICHAEL C. NAUGHTON is a 1977 graduate of the University of Vermont and received a Ph.D in Economics from Boston College in 1984. Michael is a 1994 graduate of NYU Law School. Michael joined our Litigation Department as Counsel in 2005, specializing in antitrust.
