Simpson Thacher represents Barr Pharmaceuticals, a U.S. public company, who acquired over 95% of Pliva d.d., the largest company in Croatia. The purchase price is approximately $2.5 billion. Barr acquired Pliva after winning a takeover battle against Actavis. The transaction is the first known tender offer for a Croatian company.
