Firm Wins Class Action Dismissal for Heineken

02.04.06
The United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio dismissed, with prejudice, a multi-billion dollar class action, Eisenberg v. Anheuser-Busch et al, brought on behalf of a purported class of parents against our client Heineken and numerous other major alcohol beverage companies attempting to blame alcohol advertising for illegal underage drinking. This decision follows a similar dismissal decision obtained by the Firm in mid-2005 of a similar class action, Kreft v. Zima Beverage Co., commenced in Colorado. The Simpson Thacher litigation team consisted of David Ichel, Mark Cunha, Bryce Friedman, Helena Almeida, Marissa Piropato and Tamala Boyd.
