George Newcombe Selected To Receive New Jersey Institute of Technology's Highest Honor

Litigation partner George M. Newcombe has been selected to receive the highest alumni honor from the New Jersey Institute of Technology at NJIT’s annual convocation ceremony on Sept. 28. Mr. Newcombe will receive the Weston Medal in recognition of his leadership in corporate and intellectual property litigation.

George received his BS magna cum laude in chemical engineering from NJIT in 1969. He received his JD from Columbia University School of Law where he was named a James Kent Scholar. While there, he founded the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law. He is a member of the American Law Institute, the American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, and the Defense Research Institute. In 1999, he received NJIT's Alumni Achievement Award.

Today, he serves on NJIT’s Board of Overseers. In 2000, he established the George M. Newcombe Endowed Scholarship Fund at NJIT.
