The Recorder named Simpson Thacher a finalist in its “Corporate Department of the Year” list published on September 14. The Firm was honored for representing Dell and Silver Lake Partners in the acquisition of EMC, a deal with an announced value of $67 billion, the underwriters in Apple public offerings with an aggregate value of $100 billion and Microsoft in $36.75 billion in debt offerings. Mergers and Acquisitions Partner Atif Azher and Capital Markets Partner Kevin Kennedy were each named a “Trusted Adviser” for their respective roles in the Dell acquisition and Apple offerings.
