Yonatan E. Levy

Yonatan (Yoni) Levy is a Partner in Simpson Thacher’s Private Funds Practice. Based in the Boston office, he advises fund sponsors on the formation, fundraising and operation of private investment funds across a variety of strategies, ranging from growth and buyout funds to credit, energy, secondary and co-investment funds. Yoni also regularly advises on asset management-related transactions, including structured secondary transactions, recapitalization transactions, management transitions, sponsor restructurings and “spinoffs” of investment teams from larger organizations, among others.

Notable experience prior to joining Simpson Thacher includes advising:

• Coller Capital, together with Hahn & Company, on the then largest GP-led transaction in Asia for Ssangyong
• Shoreline Equity Partners on multiple transactions and fundraises, including the establishment of Shoreline Equity Partners Fund, its inaugural private equity fund and the close of its second private equity fund, Shoreline Equity Partners Fund II
• Bain Capital on multiple transactions and fundraises, including the close of its Global Special Situations Fund and numerous co-investments
• Summa Equity AB on multiple transactions and fundraises, including the establishment of Summa Equity Fund I, Fund II and Fund III, as well as in its sale of Olink to Thermo Fisher Scientific
• ArcLight Capital Partners on multiple transactions, restructurings and fundraises, including the close of ArcLight Renewable Infrastructure Fund, its first continuation fund, as well as subsequent continuation vehicle fundraises and SPAC transactions
• Main Post Partners on their sophomore fund, Main Post Growth Capital II
• Webster Capital on the establishment of Webster Capital IV
• HarbourVest in the establishment of HarbourVest Global Private Solution SICAV S.A.
• Cove Hill Partners on the establishment of multiple funds, including its inaugural fund and Fund II
• Thomas H. Lee Partners on multiple transactions and fundraises, including the establishment of THL Automation Fund II and two continuation vehicle transactions Providence Strategic Growth on multiple co-investment vehicles
• The management company of a large university endowment in two major team spin-out transactions

Yoni received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2007, cum laude, and his B.A. from University of Maryland, College Park, summa cum laude. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York.
