Henry Llewellyn

Henry Llewellyn focuses his practice on obtaining antitrust, foreign direct investment and EU foreign subsidies regulation approvals of high-profile transactions, which are often cross-border and global in scope. He has represented clients in matters involving the European Commission, the Competition and Markets Authority, the Federal Trade Commission and other global competition authorities. 

Henry’s engagements include:

• KKR in a variety of transactions, including in connection with the combination of Nielsen IQ and GfK SE; its acquisitions of Ocean Yield and Simon & Schuster; announced acquisitions of Wittur GmbH and Telecom Italia’s fixed network business in Italy; and its strategic investments in FGS Global, OHB SE and Zenobe Energy
• Silver Lake in a variety of transactions, including its acquisitions of Qualtrics, Software AG (and subsequent sale of Software AG’s IntegrationCo business) and its strategic investment in Clubessential Holdings
• Blackstone in a variety of transactions, including its proposed majority investment in Advarra Holdings, Inc and its strategic investment in Currencies Direct
• Microsoft in relation to its acquisitions of Nuance and Xandr
• PPD Inc. in its $17.4 billion acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
• Goldman Sachs Asset Management in relation to its acquisition of MDVIP

Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Henry was an Associate at Slaughter and May. Henry earned his BA (Hons) from Trinity College, Dublin in 2011, and a Post Graduate Diploma in European Competition Law from King’s College London in 2017. Henry is admitted to practice in both Belgium and England and Wales.
