Jakarri Hamlin focuses his practice on complex banking and credit transactions, with a particular emphasis on private credit and innovative derivatives transactions.

He advises financial sponsors, investment banks, registered funds and other large financial institutions in the structuring and negotiation of complicated financings, including credit facilities and other forms of backleverage, and alternative and structured finance transactions.  

Jakarri has represented a wide range of clients, including BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR, Silver Lake Partners, Citibank, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley.

Jakarri Hamlin is Counsel in Simpson Thacher’s Banking and Credit Practice. Based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office, he focuses his practice on complex banking and credit transactions, with a particular emphasis on private credit and innovative derivatives transactions.

Jakarri advises financial sponsors, investment banks, registered funds and other large financial institutions in the structuring and negotiation of complicated financings, including credit facilities and other forms of backleverage, and alternative and structured finance transactions. 

Jakarri has represented a wide range of clients, including BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR, Silver Lake Partners, Citibank, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley.

Jakarri received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2016, and his B.A. from Colgate University in 2012, where he was a Cleon O. Morgan Award recipient and a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. He is admitted to practice in California and New York.
