Liane Aronchick is Pro Bono Attorney at Simpson Thacher. She was Managing Attorney at Catholic Charities Community Services in New York City for seven years and prior to that, supervised pro bono attorneys at Human Rights First and Kids in Need of Defense. Liane focuses on humanitarian immigration applications, such as asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, U nonimmigrant petitions for crime survivors, T nonimmigrant petitions for trafficking in persons survivors and complex removal defense matters in immigration court. Liane spent almost five years working for defense counsel representing individuals accused of international human rights related crimes before the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands. Liane received her B.A. from Barnard College, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from St. John’s Law School.
