Partners Martin Bell, Nick Goldin, Jeff Knox, Jonathan Youngwood, Marc Berger, Steve Blake, Bo Jin, Joshua Levine, Michael Osnato and Karen Porter authored an article titled, “Supreme Court Issues Long-Awaited Regulatory Decisions,” which was published by Thomson Reuters Westlaw. The article detailed three recent Supreme Court rulings that will have an impact on federal administrative agencies and the reach of federal statutes – Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, SEC v. Jarkesy and Snyder v. United States. The article further described how, with these opinions, the Supreme Court has signaled an era of limiting regulatory and prosecutorial discretion.
