Simpson Thacher attorneys contributed to the 2024 edition of “Lexology Getting The Deal Through: Market Intelligence – Private Equity,” which explored developments in the global private equity market during the first half of 2023 and provided an outlook for the remainder of the year. Partners Atif Azher, Fred de Albuquerque, Peter Gilman and Jessica O’Connell, and Associates Russell Reed, Matthew Walls and Ondrej Gaiser-Palecek, were contributing editors and co-authored the “Global Overview” and “United States” chapters. The “Global Overview” chapter provided a high-level look at the private equity landscape in the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions and explored the debt financing markets, portfolio company sales and public listings, and private equity fundraising during that time period. The “United States” chapter, which was in a Q&A format, highlighted trends in private equity buyouts and investments, investments and exits, significant keynote private equity deals, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional deals, the evolution of the legal, regulatory and policy landscape in the region, and trends in the fundraising market, among other topics.
