Stephen Blake Authors Article in The Recorder on COVID-19 Shareholder Litigation

08.14.20

Partner Stephen Blake authored an article titled, “Taking Stock of Recent COVID-19 Shareholder Litigation,” which was published by The Recorder. The article analyzed shareholder litigation stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and associated stock market dislocation, noting that recent lawsuits show meaningful differences when compared to lawsuits arising from the financial crisis. The article further highlighted that the federal securities class actions either directly related or connected to the pandemic’s path currently target four categories of defendants, broadly categorized as companies who are encountering outbreaks, providing pandemic-related products, experiencing a drop in earnings and/or whose strategic transactions have been affected by the pandemic.

Sarah Brim and Emma Horne provided valuable assistance in the preparation of this article.
