Simpson Thacher Lawyers Author The Banking Law Journal Article on Rule Simplifying Capital Requirements for Community Banking Organizations

Partners Lee Meyerson and Keith Noreika, Counsel Adam Cohen and Associate Spencer Sloan authored an article titled, “Banking Agencies Adopt Community Bank Leverage Ratio Rules,” which was published by The Banking Law Journal. The article highlighted the key features of the Federal Reserve, OCC and FDIC’s finalized rule that simplifies capital requirements for certain community banking organizations by allowing qualifying community banking organizations to adopt a simple leverage ratio to measure capital adequacy. The article further discussed topics including the qualifying criteria for community banking organizations and how the community bank leverage ratio is calculated.
