12.05.12
Simpson Thacher IP counsel Joshua Walker co-authored an article entitled "The America Invents Act 500:  Effects of Patent Monetization Entities on US Litigation," published in the Duke Law & Technology Review.  The article provides landmark data on non-practicing entities, finding a doubling of litigation activity by such entities over the last five years.  The research project was originally commissioned by the office of the Comptroller General of the United States, pursuant to congressional mandate in the America Invents Act.  Mr. Walker developed the project and assembled the research team, including co-authors Robin Feldman and Sara Jeruss.  To read the full article, please click here.
