Counsel David Azcue was a lead contributor for the Japan chapter of Chambers’ “Global Practice Guides: Alternative Funds 2020.” David authored the section titled, “Trends and Developments,” which focused on the alternative funds market in Japan and outlined several themes from the past year. The chapter highlighted the impact of COVID-19 on fundraising, the resignation of Prime Minister Abe, the diversification of the industry and trends in fund finance, among other topics.
David also co-authored the section titled, “Law and Practice,” which provides a broad overview of the legal, tax and regulatory regimes applicable to alternative funds in Japan.
