Simpson Thacher was named a Fund Formation Practice Group of the Year for 2024 by Law360. The Firm was recognized for its work advising on five of the 10 largest private equity funds to close in 2024—including EQT X, which closed at €22 billion and was the largest private equity fund closing of the year. The Firm’s work advising on Lexington Capital Partners X, which raised $22.7 billion to become the largest secondaries fund to date, was also highlighted, as was the Firm’s role on Silver Lake Partners VII, which closed at $20.5 billion and marked Silver Lake’s largest-ever fundraise.

Michael Wolitzer, Head of Simpson Thacher’s Investment Funds Practice, cited the Firm’s deep experience advising a diverse client base across a wide range of asset classes as a key to his team’s success over the past year. “It’s a focus on all those things, together, that allows us to grow and prosper,” he said.
